Impending decision

My post on October 8, 2010 was all about the backing of the Halloween quilt I was working on.  At that time I was unsure of how I would progress with the backing.  Oh the decisions us quilters must face...

I decided to purchase 2 1/2 more yards of the fabric that I currently had.  This is what will look the best for this quilt.  Since it's for Baby A, as he's fondly called, he deserves the best.  This is funny because for the back of Baby B's quilt, it's pieced with 3 different fabrics.  I guess I was mad at him when I decided on that. :-)

So, the next day I put the order in with the quilt shop online that I had originally ordered with and was good to go.  Of course it can't be that easy.  Not only did I order the Halloween fabric but a couple of charm square packs that were on sale.  Unfortunately they didn't have the 2 1/2 yards of Halloween fabric so they sent just the charm squares.  Boy was I mad.  In my special instructions I said I needed the Halloween fabric so cancel if you don't have it.  After reviewing my instructions I realized I wasn't clear enough to cancel the whole order, not just the Halloween fabric.  These sort of things happen when ordering online.  I'm sure I'll enjoy the charm packs.

A hunting I will go, a hunting I will go, hi ho a dario a hunting I will go- the hunt online for more of the backing.  Here's a picture of what I was looking for:

Thanks to quiltshops.com, I found the nicest shop called Designer Fabrics Quilt Shop, quiltdesignerfabrics, in Carrington, ND, that has it.  Almost a whole bolt to boot.  Put in the order and bought a whole bunch of other stuff.  I'll be "heading" there again if I need anything!

Why am I telling you all of this in such great detail you ask?  Well, a couple of days ago I was on another blog, quiddity-quilts, and she posted the Process Pledge.  Here it is:

I, Jane, pledge to talk more about my processes, even when I can’t quite put them in the in words or be sure I’m being totally clear.   I’m going to put my thinking and my gut feelings out there.

I think this is so important for me to understand why I'm doing what I'm doing.  Also may give some insight to others as to what's going on in a person's head when a decision is being made.  Pretty deep.

Who know where this will go but it will certainly be an adventure.
